Opening and first event of the Community Engagement Center (CEC) in South Mitrovica
Today, on December 19, 2023, the Community Engagement Center (CEC) was opened in South Mitrovica, marking the successful cooperation between the Municipality of South Mitrovica and the INTEGRA Project.
The center was established in order to provide a space for repatriated women and girls, as well as those at risk of leaving, and to encourage their active participation in various activities. These activities include not only the provision of educational opportunities, training and seminars, but also social gatherings and other events.
In close cooperation with the Municipality and in accordance with the interests of women, the CEC will organize activities engaging experts from the relevant fields, constantly supported by the project staff.
After the opening of the CEC, the first event was held in which the topic “Domestic violence, prevention of domestic violence and the consequences of violence against children” was discussed. In the interactive discussion between the lecturer and the participants, it was emphasized that in order to address the challenges of domestic violence, it is important for society to be involved in efforts to prevent and treat domestic violence, offering support to victims and promoting a culture of respect and equality in relationships between people.
Women from all communities living in South Mitrovica and the surrounding municipalities are encouraged to participate, in order to expand their knowledge about the topics that will be addressed in the CEC.
Participation in the activities organized at CEC is free of charge.
